Galligan & Newman founder Mike Galligan is the only Tennessee attorney and one of nine attorneys nation-wide to be selected as a member of the Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the bankruptcy proceedings for the New England Compounding Center (NECC). NECC is the Boston-based compounding pharmacy attributed with manufacturing and selling injections contaminated with mold that causes fungal meningitis. The committee’s duty is to ensure that property is gathered under the estate and made available to the countless victims and creditors. Mr. Galligan is traveling to Boston to participate in the Committee’s meetings and is encouraged about the progress made in obtaining funds for victims. As of the this date, the fungal meningitis outbreak attributed to drugs manufactured by NECC has claimed the lives of 46 people and sickened approximately 704. Mr. Galligan currently represents several of the victims of this tragedy.
